1.Background & Core Objectives
Located at the south end of Zishan Lake Ecological Park in Yiyang National High-tech Zone, Hunan Province, the Yiyang Citizen Cultural Center covers 47.75 hectares (716.2 acres) and a total construction area of about 66,000 sqm. It houses a library, science museum, cultural center, activity center, museum and planning museum.
With a local ecological design philosophy and themed on Dongting Fish Songs, the complex is linearly arranged along the ridge to match the lake-shore landscape. The buildings take the shape of “a school of fish”, reflecting Dongting Lake culture and embodying the auspicious implication of Yiyang as a “land of fish and rice”.
